Install secure LiveHQ updates
Understand automatic discovery, signed installation, operation fencing, and the messages shown when a feed is unavailable.
How update discovery works
When automatic checks are enabled, LiveHQ performs a gentle background check when the app opens and continues on a six-hour schedule while it remains open.
A valid newer build appears in the sidebar and top-right update control. Noncritical updates do not interrupt you with an automatic modal.
Install an available update
Open the update action
Review the signed version, build number, and release notes.
Choose Install Update
Sparkle downloads the immutable DMG and verifies its EdDSA signature before extraction.
Choose Restart & Update
LiveHQ waits at a safe boundary when a deployment, database operation, or other protected mutation is active.
Watch workspace recovery
After relaunch, LiveHQ verifies the profile, runtime, local inventory, and required routes before returning to the workspace.
What Update issue means
Update issue means the signed update service could not be reached or validated. It is not the same as You're up to date, and it does not affect the running app runtime or edge tunnel.
Check the internet connection and try again later. During an internal pre-release test, the badge can also appear because the public beta feed has intentionally not been published yet; normal released users should not encounter that launch condition.
Control automatic checks
Settings lets you enable or disable scheduled checks. Turning checks off is respected at launch; you can still choose Check for Updates manually.
LiveHQ never installs an update without your explicit choice.
